A JEDI FALLS INTO THE DARKNESS, BUT WHAT DOES THE INQUISITORIUS HOLD IN STORE FOR HER? This ep is another canon book review, but this one takes place from Attack Of The Clones through The Clone Wars and into years after Order 66, following Iskat Akaris’ journey from Jedi Padawan to The Thirteenth Sister (an inquisitor) and the many situations she finds herself in along the way, including searching for other members of her mysterious species.

In this episode, Mike first introduces the book & mentions connected content, then provides his spoiler-free thoughts, before giving slightly more details and finishing with a full spoiler warning and detailing his full thoughts on the novel and some connections. This is the perfect companion to episode 74 of SWCIC, where Mike delves into issues 19-25 of the 2017 Darth Vader comics, which take place when the epilogue of Rise Of the Red Blade occurs!

Star Wars: Ahsoka Part 7 Dreams And Madness: Is This Show’s Sole Purpose To Bring Thrawn Back? Plus Action Scenes Interrupting Dialogue, Baylan Is Amazing and Ezra’s Interesting Return, With Angry Andy & Mike

Our discussion on Ahsoka continues with the penultimate episode of the series; Part 7: Dreams And Madness!

Mike is joined by Angry Andy and their conversation begins with Andy’s thoughts on the series so far, before delving into Hera & The New Republic, Sabine, Baylan Soll & Shin Hati’s paths, Thrawn, Ezra and more! In more detail, the duo inadvertently are quite critical of the show, as they start with surface-level issues but end up pulling threads that lead to more & more questions, including; do Ahsoka’s actions have any impact on the outcome of this show’s plot (aka bringing Thrawn back)? Do Ezra’s actions make sense or do they just to prevent him being too overpowered? Can any character with a name die? Why is Baylan so interesting while Morgan Elsbeth is so dull? Is this show just a prologue to an upcoming movie? Mike & Andy ask these questions and more!

Star Wars: The Battle Of Jedha By George Mann: Audio Drama Review & Plot Summary – Silandra Sho, Creighton Sun, Aida Forte & The Path Of The Open Hand – High Republic Phase 2, Wave 1

AFTER CONVERGENCE, THE BATTLE OF JEDHA DISRUPTS THE GALAXY! It’s time for another review of The High Republic, but this episode features the audio drama/script book written by George Mann for Phase 2 of this era; The Battle of Jedha! As per Mike’s other reviews, he begins by giving an overview of the era and provides information on the book itself, before he gives his spoiler-free thoughts. He then gives a mild spoiler warning and speaks more about the characters in the book, the themes and the plot information given in the first part of the book. Mike then reads the blurb/publisher’s summary and gives a major spoiler warning, before giving his thoughts on the whole book and finishes the episode with giving an overview of the book’s plot – this is a must-listen for any fans of The High Republic, especially if you’ve not listened to this audio drama!

This episode was first released on the feed of Comics In Motion, in April 2023.

The Battle Of Jedha is an audio drama written by George Mann, is set in Phase 2, Wave 1 of THR; 350 years before the Skywalker Saga and was released January 3rd 2023, the script book was released February 14th 2023.

Other Phase 2 High Republic book reviews that Mike has released, all in 2023, are; Path Of Deceit on 7th Jan, Quest For Hidden City on February 14th and Convergence on March 18th. A review for Cataclysm & the other phase 2 books will follow, as will THR comics, The Blade and other phase 2 content.

Previously, in ep 124, Mike released an episode that is technically not “canon” as it’s a comic that takes place in a Star Wars Visions continuity, more specifically, The Duel. This comic is a prequel to The Duel animated episode, which is also linked to the Ronin novel. Mike explores The Ronin’s story, confirms connections along the way and gives his interpretations to the ending.

This episode was first released on the feed of Comics In Motion, in December 2022.

Make sure you go back and listen to episode 28 of SWCIC (from October 2020) to hear Mike’s review of Claudia Gray’s Master & Apprentice and Mike’s review of Mike Chen’s Brotherhood in June 2021.

Sar Wars: Comics In Canon – THR: The Rising Storm by Cavan Scott, Review & Overview – Nihil Attack The Republic Fair On Valo, Plus Ty Yorrick, Elzar Mann & The Tempest Runner – The High Republic (Phase 1, Wave 2)

This episode, Mike is doing another spoiler-free book review & plot overview from the High Republic’s second wave; The Rising Storm by Cavan Scott – the “main adult” novel with a huge amount of characters, major plot points and shocking moments!

Mike then reads out the blurb & crawl before providing more details on the characters and their general journeys/thoughts, the state of the Republic at the start of this book, the wider themes and how they impact story elements, as well as how it fits in with other High Republic material, which all falls into light-spoiler territory. He then talks about “connected content”, primarily the tie-in High Republic comics and gives a mini-review of the Tempest Runner audio drama before giving plenty of warning and delving into his more detailed review, which still doesn’t fully spoil the book but it does mention some plot details right at the very end, so you can listen to as little or as much info about The Rising Storm before picking it up yourself.
