What You Can Expect From Star Wars: Comics In Canon In 2024; Clone Wars Conversations, Book Reviews & More!

This episode is just to update you on Mike’s output for this show in 2024; he will be aiming to release at least 2 episodes a month; a book review and an episode of Clone Wars Conversations, plus comic episodes here & there. He is still planning on weekly interviews on his other podcast Genuine Chit-Chat, but as he’s getting married and spending a month in America in August, he needs to adjust his podcasting output!

Mike recently spoke with Adam Christopher (author of Shadow Of The Sith) in ep 216 of Genuine Chit-Chat and with Ethan Sacks (author of Bounty Hunters, Galaxy’s Edge & more Star Wars comics) on ep 213! Plus, interviews with Claudia Gray, Cavan Scott, George Mann & more can be found on this feed or in this YouTube playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcO1Ib_BGD8aBx1DlANwSaxC09kD-CQuM&si=8l9x_mim-lbkbxh2

In the last episode of 2023 (ep 143) Mike delved into the 2021 & 2023 Free Comic Book Day High Republic stories surrounding characters from the High Republic Adventures comics from Phase 1, primarily Lula Talisola. The 2021 story takes place just after the Race To Crashpoint Tower book while the 2023 story takes place after all issues of the phase 1 Adventures comics. Mike talks about these stories as well as Ram Jomaram, Zeen Mrala, Qort, Starlight Beacon, The Nihil and more!

#67 – Taking A Short Break To Mexico: A Solo Pod About What’s To Come & Why The Two Week Gap

This week is something a little bit different – as I (Mike) am going to Mexico for 10 days, I wanted to take a break from podcasting so I wouldn’t have to work while away and to ensure I don’t rush any upcoming episodes.

In this episode, I just basically just ramble on for 40 minutes, talking about my trip to Mexico, some of the ins & outs of my podcasting schedule and why I’ve decided to take a break, the episodes to expect once I return, a review of the new Lion King, me guesting on a future episode of The Brave Files, some of the previous episodes I recommend checking out if you’re new to the show, what can be expected from following Genuine Chit-Chat on the usual social media channels and other stuff!

To be clear to any first-time listeners, this is more of a bonus episode to explain to anyone not following on social media that I’ll be away for 2 weeks, why that is and what you can expect going forward, so I’ll speak with you all on Sunday 25th!

In this solo ramble I mentioned a few podcasts to check out including #52 with Bill M of The Church Of Satan, episodes #48 & #65 with Gough, the blind filmmaker from Australia, #54 with Heather of The Brave Files, #63 with Comics In Motion and #24 with my brother Rob, Remembering Our Late Father – all of these can be found in the usual places and while I’m on the break, it’s worth checking out the rest of the back catalogue too!

Last week I spoke with Amanda Steel – an author of novels, poems & short stories, as well as creating a quarterly written media publication called Printed Words and being one half of the Reading In Bed Podcast! In our chat we discussed Amanda’s newest book, First Charge as well as Amanda’s other works, when & why she started writing, why she used the pseudonym “Aleesha Black” for her Lost & Found books, one of the worst dates Amanda has been on and using it as inspiration for “Love, Dates & Other Nightmares”, before talking about what Amanda’s publication “Printed Words” entails, how she gets her writing done. The conversation then moves onto Amanda’s podcast and podcasting in general, before a brief discussion on Amanda’s religious/spiritual views, then talking about different languages, learning to become a better writer and much more!
