Doctor Aphra 30 was released April 12th 2023, DA 31 was released May 3rd 2023, the trade paperback collection for DA is due for release August 1st 2023 and both issues were written by Alyssa Wong with artist Minkyu Jung and colour artist Rachelle Rosenberg.

For Hidden Empire 1, 2, 3 & 4, check episodes 121, 122, 123 & 127. The comic episodes set between Crimson Reign & Hidden Empire are 114 for Bounty Hunters, 115 for Star Wars, 117 for Doctor Aphra, 119 for Darth Vader, and Crimson Reign 5 was tackled in ep 110!

The last episode was 128 which was the 40th anniversary of Return Of The Jedi and where Mike delves into the first 3 comics (of 8) that tie-in with Return Of The Jedi; Jabba’s Palace, Ewoks & Lando, but this episode was uploaded to the feed weeks ago (when it was the 40th anniversary), so the last episode on this feed was technically 127, which was Hidden Empire 4.

Doctor Aphra Is Possessed By The Spark Eternal, Plus Ancient Sith Darkseekers, Sana Starros & Magna Tolvan (Doctor Aphra [2020] Vol 6: Ascendant #22-26) – Ep 117

APHRA IMPRISONED IN HER OWN MIND WHILE THE SPARK ETERNAL RUNS RAMPANT! For ep 117, Mike delves into the 5 issues of Doctor Aphra set after Crimson Reign, but before the Hidden Empire crossover event, which features an ancient being called the Spark Eternal possessing Aphra, trapping her inside her own memories with no one to speak with aside from a long-dead Chadra-Fan. While this unfolds, Sana Starros puts a crew together to find Aphra while Just Lucky is hotly in pursuit! As well as this plot, Mike provides further information on Cortosis, the Mairan species, the Droid Crush and more!

This story is set after Empire Strikes Back & after the Crimson Reign & War Of The Bounty Hunters events, but before Hidden Empire & Return Of The Jedi.

Doctor Aphra 22-26 are written by Alyssa Wong, with Minkyu Jung as artist on all issues and Natacha Bustos also as artist on issue 22, and Rachelle Rosenberg is colour artist on all issues.

Issue 22 was released July 27th 2022, issue 26 was released 16th November 2022 and the trade paperback collection (for issues 21-25) was released December 27th 2022.

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Doctor Aphra & Sana Starros Find A Nihil Path Engine, While Pursued By Vukorah While Just Lucky Runs Into Problems: The Engine Job (Doctor Aphra [2020] Vol 2: #6-10) – Ep 70

APHRA FINDS A NIHIL PATH ENGINE!? For ep 70, Mike embarks on the second volume of the 2020 Doctor Aphra comics; The Engine Job, where Aphra searches for a device that could change the way the galaxy uses hyperspace, using tech that is over 200 years old! Aphra is joined by Sana Starros and together they search for the path engine while being pursued by Vukorah; head of the Unbroken Clan all while Just Lucky’s side story shows he’s having problems of his own! All of this, plus the many connections within this story are discussed, including ray shields, Corellia & more!

These comics are set after Empire Strikes Back but before Return Of The Jedi, in 3-4 ABY and lead into the War Of The Bounty Hunters crossover event (tackled in episode 60 of SWCIC).

All issues were written by Alyssa Wong, with Victor Olazaba as inker, Rachelle Rosenberg as colour artist, with Robert Gill & Ray-Anthony Height as pencillers on issue 6, Ray-Anthony Height also penciller on issue 10 and Minkyu Jung as penciller on issues 7, 8 & 9.

Issue 6 was released November 2020, issue 10 was released May 2021 and the trade paperback collection was released August 2021.

For the first volume of this run, check episode 67 of SWCIC and for the first run of Aphra comics, check out episodes 34, 36, 42, 46, 51, 55, 59 & 63, and don’t forget to check out the Vader episodes where she was first introduced; 15, 17, 19, 23 & 29! Also check episodes 60, 64 & 68 for the War Of The Bounty Hunters crossover. In the last episode of SWCIC, Mike embarked on Darth Vader comic arc; The Burning Seas, tackling plot points of Vader confronting Gial Ackbar & King Lee-Char on Mon Cala, hunting down an ex-jedi padawan, before he is then hunted by Tarkin and Annual 2 shows him discovering the true power of the Death Star, all in one great episode! Mike also gives more information on numerous connections including the inquisitorius, Mon Cala & their star cruisers, Tarkin and so much more!

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Ep 57: Rebels Stranded On Hubin With The Markona Clan (Star Wars #56-61: The Escape)

In this episode of Star Wars: Comics In Canon, Mike embarks on the 10th volume of the main run of Star Wars comics; The Escape! This story-arc contains Luke, Han, Leia, C-3PO & R2-D2 escaping the empire and turning to Sana Starros for help, before getting stranded on the isolationist moon of Hubin where the mysterious warrior/clan leader Thane greets them! Plus, keep an eye out for SCAR Squadron’s return!

This arc is set around 1 ABY (1 year after A New Hope, 2 years before Empire Strikes Back).

Please note this episode was originally released in May of 2021 on the feed of Comics In Motion.

All issues were written by Kieron Gillen, with Guru eFX as colour artist and for issues 56 & 61 Andrea Broccardo is the artist with Angel Unzueta being the artist for issues 57-60.

Issue 56 was released November 2018, issue 61 was released February 2019 and the trade paperback collection was released April 2019.

This episode of Star Wars: Comics In Canon features 5 individual comic stories from the main Star Wars comics and the 3rd Star Wars Annual, including R2-D2 killing a bunch of stormtroopers, Sana & Lando’s con before Empire Strikes Back, Luke & Leia being stranded on an unknown planet, Han & Chewie taking Grakkus The Hutt prisoner, SCAR squadron finding a rebel base on Horox III and an angry Nikto from Han’s past causes trouble for him & Leia!

Please note this episode was originally released in January of 2021 on the feed of Comics In Motion.

Star Wars 33-37 were written by Jason Aaron, Salvador Larroca was the artist and Edgar Delgado was the colourist, with the 3rd SW annual being written by Jason LaTour with Michael Walsh as the artist & colourist.

Star Wars 33 was released July 2017, issue 37 was out October 2017, Star Wars Annual 3 was out September 2017 and the trade paperback (Vol 6: Out Among The Stars) was released in December 2017.

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Ep 36: Luke Skywalker & Doctor Aphra Vs Mind-Controlling Parasites (The Screaming Citadel Crossover)

This episode of Star Wars: Comics In Canon features the Doctor Aphra crossover with the main run of Star Wars comics; The Screaming Citadel, where the mind-controlling abersyn symbiotes reappear to cause havoc! The episode features the main trio of rebels joined by Sana Starros, Doctor Aphra, the homicidal droids Triple-Zero & BT-1 along with Aphra’s wookiee companion Black Krrsantan all up against the Queen Ktath’atn and her loyal followers, with appearance of an ancient entity, mind-control and much more!

The Screaming Citadel consists of Screaming Citadel 1, Star Wars 31 & 32 and Doctor Aphra 7 & 8. It was written by Jason Aaron & Kieron Gillen, with art by Marco Checcetto, Salvador Larroca & Andrea Broccardo with Andres Mossa, Edgar Delgado & Antonio Fabela as the colourists.

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Ep 13: How Luke Lost His Saber to Grakkus The Hutt (Star Wars #8-12)

In this episode of Star Wars: Comics In Canon, Mike returns to the main run of Star Wars comics, this week focusing on the book/volume 2 story-arc “Showdown On The Smugglers Moon” featuring comics #8-12, set shortly after A New Hope and it includes Grakkus The Hutt’s jedi relic collection, Han Solo’s wife Sana, Dengar the bounty hunter facing off against Chewie and more!

This run of Star Wars comics are written by Jason Aaron, pencilled by Stuart Immonen, inked by Wade Von Grawbadger and Justin Ponsor is the colourist. Issue #8 was released August 2015 and issue #12 was released November 2015. The collection of these was released in January 2016 (which also includes #7, the first in the Journals Of Obi-Wan, which will be covered in a later episode). Towards the end of the episode, Mike talks about what is coming up as well as the future Q&A episode!
