For ep 203, it’s another in-person conversation with Matt but this time they talk about Matt’s time hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, his new business and more!

#151 Pt 2 – Using Kaizen To Deal With Failure: Lessons Learned, Improvement & Finding Motivation In Adversity With Jarrod Speed

Jarrod Speed returns to GCC to continue talking about his experience of attempting a world record attempt by doing an obstacle course at the top of the highest mountain in Africa, as well as confirming the many challenges along the way and what’s in store for him going forward!

This week is part 2 of the conversation and the duo discuss how Jarrod dealt with his mountain journey and what it means for him going forward, the duo then discuss comparisons in Jarrod’s adventure to movies & video games before Jarrod talks about the other people who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with him who have inspired him (including ultra-marathon runners, mountain climbers & philanthropists). Part 2 hosts a much more varied discussion than part 1, as although the chat starts with Hedley speaking about audio dramas, the topic soon moves onto movies, followed by a whole range of things including the damage of toxic masculinity, the representation of different races & sexualities in the media, black lives matter, capitalism, understanding negative behaviour, freedom of speech, stereotypes, Star Trek and so much more before circling back and discussing Marilyn’s Diary (a WFSJ mini-series)!
