NIGHTMARES PLAGUE LINA GRAF & HER CREW WHILE VANÉE PERFORMS A RITUAL TO RESURRECT DARTH VADER! In ep 112, Mike delves into the final 5 “Vader’s Castle” horror stories; Ghosts Of Vader’s Castle, each story shows familiar faces from the original & prequel eras along with plenty of references, shocks and even a surprise appearance or two! This is a must-listen for any horror fans, or those wanting to hear the finale of Lina Graf’s entanglement with the iconic Sith Lord & his Fortress on Mustafar!

This episode was first released on the feed of Comics In Motion, in October 2022.

The continuous story is set just after Return Of The Jedi (around 4-5ABY). The writer for these comics was Cavan Scott and Francesco Francavilla is the artist & colour artist for the continuous story. For issue 1, Megan Levens is the flashback artist and Charlie Kirchoff is the flashback colour artist. Derek Charm, Robert Hack and Chris Fenoglio each did artwork & colours on the flashbacks of issues 2, 3 & 4 respectively. Issues 1-5 were released in September/October 2021, the trade paperback collection was released January 2022.

The first batch of Vader’s Castle stories was tackled in episode 76 of SWCIC and the second batch was in ep 103. Mike delved into all four volumes of 2017 Vader in ep 62, 66, 70 & 74 of SWCIC. For the 2015 Vader run (set after A New Hope), check out episodes 15, 17, 19, 23 & 29 of SWCIC, for the 2020 run of Vader comics, check episodes 79 & 81 of SWCIC and check ep 41 for the Vader: Dark Visions anthology mini-series and ep 49 is the Target Vader mini-series.

In ep 110, Mike delved into the 5 Obi-Wan comics, where each issue delves into a different part of his life; from when he was a youngling in the Jedi temple, to going on missions with Qui-Gon as a padawan to two Clone Wars incursions to saving the life of a stormtrooper – this is a must-listen for all fans of this iconic Jedi Master!

THE KNIGHTS OF REN BREAK INTO VADER’S CASTLE ON MUSTAFAR! In ep 108, Mike delves into the fourth batch of Crimson Reign comics, where the infamous Knights Of Ren (& their leader before Kylo) attempt to steal a key from Darth Vader while the Crimson Dawn conspiracy continues to plunge the galaxy into chaos. Plus, the Bounty Hunters crew try to escape a horde of Unbroken Clan loyalists, Vader probes Sabé & Ochi about Crimson Dawn, Commander Zahra makes a daring gambit against the entire Rebellion fleet and Aphra finally gets her hands on the Spark Eternal…

This episode was first released on the feed of Comics In Motion, in September 2022.

This story is set after Empire Strikes Back & after the War Of The Bounty Hunters event, but before Return Of The Jedi and the reading order is BH22>CR4>DV22>SW23>DA20.

BH22 was released 6th April 2022 and was written by Ethan Sacks with Paolo Villanelli as artist and Arif Prianto as colour artist. Crimson Reign 4 was released 27th April 2022 and was written by Charles Soule, with Steven Cummings as penciller, Victor Olazaba as inker and Guru eFX as colour artist. DV22 was April 23rd 2022, was written by Greg Pak with Raffaele Ienco as artist and Alex Sinclair as colour artist. SW23 was released 4th May 2022 and was written by Charles Soule, with Ramon Rosanas as artist and Rachelle Rosenberg as colour artist. DA20 was released 18th May 2022 and was written by Alyssa Wong with Minkyu Jung as artist Rachelle Rosenberg as colour artist.

Mike covered the prelude to Crimson Reign in episode 97 of SWCIC, the first volume in ep 102, the 2nd in 104, the 3rd in 106 and for all War of The Bounty Hunters comics, check episodes 60, 64, 68, 72, 77 & 84.

In ep 107, Mike tackled the first volume of Han Solo & Chewbacca comics; set in the years between Solo and A New Hope, where Han & Chewie are doing a job for Jabba The Hutt where nothing seems to go right; they meet a man claiming to be Han’s father, have to work with the nefarious Greedo, Chewie gets in (another) violent confrontation with the Wookiee bounty hunter Krrsantan plus so much more! Some unexpected familiar faces also appear…

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Fortress Vader Finale: Castle Immortal On Mustafar, The Sith Mask Of Momin & An Intense Force Vision (Darth Vader [2017] Vol 4: #19-25) – Ep 74

FORTRESS VADER IS UPON US! Yes, the finale of Mike’s favourite Star Wars comics ever, comes to an end with Vader creating his immortal castle on Mustafar with the help of the Sith Momin to try and open up a portal to Padmé all while fighting off native Mustafarians and many other hurdles along the way in this exciting finale! In addition, Mike provides information on many other Jedi that appear in this comic, the history of Mustafar and more!

This story is set just approximately 5 years after Revenge Of The Sith (14BBY). The writer for these comics was Charles Soule, Giuseppe Camuncoli was the penciller, Daniele Orlandini was the inker and David Curiel was the colour artist for all issues excluding issue 20. Dono Sanchez-Almara was the co-colour artist on issues 20, 23, 24 & 25 and Erick Arciniega was co-colour artist on issues 20 & 25.

Issue 19 was released August 2018, Issue 25 was released December 2018, the trade paperback collection was released August 2020 and the full omnibus of the 2017 Vader comics is due to be released November 2021.

Please note this episode was originally released in October 2021 on the feed of Comics In Motion.

Check out the last episode of SWCIC where Mike embarked on the first volume of the 2020 main Star Wars run, set moments after the end of Empire Strikes Back where Luke searches for his lost lightsaber, so heads back to Cloud City with Leia & R2-D2, plus Lando returns searching for an old friend, all while the group evade the pursuing Empire! Mike goes through the plot & gives plenty of details to other connections including the Pathfinders, Ugnaughts, Weequay and more!
