Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Bounty Hunters: Valance Fighting Pirates & Protecting Cadeliah, While Bossk Is Hunted In On Malastare (Bounty Hunters Vol 2: Target Valance #6-11) – Ep 80

BEILERT VALANCE IS HUNTED! In ep 80, Mike embarks on the second volume of the Bounty Hunters comics; Target Valance, set shortly after the end of Empire Strikes Back! Valance escapes being hunted while protecting Cadeliah, before helping some Rebels hunted by the Ohnaka Pirate Gang, meanwhile Bossk is being hunted in the Great Hunt Of Malastare! Mike also gives additional info on Battle Droids, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, the Gran species and more!

This story is set just after Empire Strikes Back (3ABY). The writer for these comics was Ethan Sacks, Paolo Villanelli was the artist and Arif Prianto was the colour artist. Issue 6 was released October 2020, Issue 11 was released April 2021 and the trade paperback collection was released June 2021.

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Ep 41: Vader As Saviour, The Obsessed Woman & Other Strange Tales (Vader: Dark Visions)

This episode of Star Wars: Comics In Canon features something a bit different; 5 stories showing 5 different Darth Vader stories, with artwork for each comic being by different people! In brief, the stories include; Vader as a savior on a unknown world, an imperial officer driven mad with fear, a woman hopelessly in love, a cocky rebel pilot, and a terrifying hallucinogenic trip, plus information on exogorths/space slugs (big worm from Empire Strikes Back).

Vader Dark Visions were all written by Dennis “Hopeless” Hallum (art all different per issue). Issue 1 was released March 2019, issue 5 June 2019 and the trade paperback was released August 2019.

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Ep 37: Lando’s Calrissian Chronicles With L3-37 & The Millennium Falcon Before Solo

This episode of Star Wars: Comics In Canon features the 5-part mini-series; Lando – Double Or Nothing which is set just before Solo: A Star Wars Story, featuring Lando, L3-37 and an undamaged Millennium Falcon! As well as Lando recording his adventures as the “Calrissian Chronicles”, the story includes a rebellion uprising, Lando buying a new cape and Mike also gives some information about the Falcon, L3-37 and of course, Lando himself!

Be sure to check out episode 18 of SWCIC for the Lando comic set at the time of A New Hope and episode 10 for another Solo tie-in with Han’s time as an imperial cadet!

In this episode of Star Wars: Comics In Canon, Mike delves into the five-part mini-series; Jedi Fallen Order – Dark Temple which focuses on Cere Junda’s time as Eno Cordova’s padawan before the events of the video game Jedi Fallen Order, exploration of an ancient temple, a civil war and more! All 5 issues of Jedi Fallen Order – Dark Temple are written by Matthew Rosenberg, the artist is Paolo Villanelli and Arif Prianto is the colourist however Ruairí Coleman also illustrated issue #5.
