#116 Pt 2 – Breaking Down Abstract Ideas: The Causation Of Consciousness & The Fountain Of Existence With Jack Thomas

Jack of the Just Conversations podcast returns for part 2 of the deep dive into the concept of good & evil, consciousness, “the fountain of existence”, identity & more – continuing the very abstract discussion!

So for this week’s part, the conversation on consciousness continues but please be advised on a trigger warning, as rape is mentioned as an example during the discussion. For clarity, the rest of their conversation tackles abtract ideas, the equalisation of the universe, how the universe may have started, the causation of consciousness, the “fountain of existence”, free will & determinism, one’s self and more!

In case you missed it, part 1 of their chat started with the “passive apocalypse” and the polarising political system in America before delving into the main conversation topic; the concept of “good & evil”. Mike & Jack discuss whether “good” or “evil” even exist, as well as the historical retelling of events that alter perception, whether or not intent can affect the “goodness” of an action, religion’s impact of the perception of evil, heaven & hell and consciousness!

The Left Needs The Right: Brexit, Political Accountability & Minimum Wage – GCC #32 with Dom Fullwood

This week, Dom is back, this time for a discussion about politics; especially discussing Brexit, the left & the right and how we must find balance between them, the “ideal world” and much more!

As shown by the above, this week is much more of a political podcast than the standard and as Dom & Mike are from England, the political realms of England is what is primarily spoken about, however among this, minimum wage, hard work, a communism, accountability, a sprinkling of American politics and the rapper Akala are all also discussed!

Last week’s chat with Dom was vastly different to this weeks and listing everything they discussed would take far too long (and would be dull to read) but a few notable topics were language & the differences between UK-English and American-English, how hard it is for our generation to buy property, the younger generation and the internet days just-before Facebook, so be sure to check that one out if you fancy a chat less about politics and more about everything else!

Promo by American Slacker

Two episodes back was a two-part gaming chat with Josh & Rhys as guests, talking about some of the games they have loved and some of the issues with today’s gaming industry – one to definitely check out for the videogamers among you!

“Just Don’t Be A Dick” – GCC #14 – Transgender Identity, Gender Pronouns & Being Triggered

This week, Mike talks to Josh & Rhys about how society should deal with transgender identity in regards to gender pronouns and how far we should go, bringing up a few odd examples such as a 52 year old man claiming to identify as a young girl. Leading on from this, also brings discussion on the progressive-left & alt-right and how people can’t seem to meet in the middle with issues, caused by stubbornness & toxic tribalism, as well as societal pressures that many of us experience and how that can affect us.

Last week was part 2 of Mike’s chat with Jonny, where they talk Parks & Recreation, Star Wars, football (soccer), movies & the cinema, paradoxes, contactless card payments, The Office (UK & US) and too many other things to count!

The next episode won’t be released until the first week in March, which is a chat with the YouTuber Steph The Crab, so be sure to tune in for that too!

GCC #9 Part 1 – Dom Fullwood – Airsoft, Hunting, Zoos & Gun Laws

This week, Mike talks to Dom, a friend who holds different religious and political views, so this makes for a great discussion.
In Part 1 they speak about airsoft (as it’s one of Dom’s passions and Mike wants to try it sometime), animals in zoos and if it’s ever okay to hunt animals (Mike & Dom have differing views on the matter) and how guns should be handled by government both in the UK & in the US.

Part 2 will be out in the first week of 2018, where Dom & Mike speak about extremism and their opinions on religion (Mike being an atheist and Dom being a christian) – like this week, part 2 is not to be missed!
