Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Quest Of The Jedi One-Shot: Origins Of The Rods Of Daybreak & Seasons To Control The Nameless, Plus Azlin Rell, The Kyber Arch & The Echo Stone – High Republic – Dark Horse – Ep 134

WE GO BACK FURTHER THAN EVER BEFORE IN CANON TO FIND THE POWER TO CONTROL THE NAMELESS! Ep 134’s focus is the only one-shot in Phase 2 of The High Republic; Quest Of The Jedi! This comic delves into the origins of the Echo Stone, which leads into the Rods of Daybreak & Seasons. The story is set almost 500 years before the Skywalker Saga, with two new Jedi and some extra information about Azlin Rell.

This episode was first released on the feed of Comics In Motion, in August 2023.

High Republic Adventures: Quest Of The Jedi was written by Claudia Gray with artwork by Fico Ossio and colours by Sebastian Cheng & Candace Han. It was released April 26th 2023 and no confirmation of a trade paperback release at the time of recording.

Phase 2 book reviews were released; Path Of Deceit on 7th Jan, Quest For Hidden City on February 14th, Convergence on March 18th, The Battle Of Jedha on April 22nd, Cataclysm on June 17th & Quest For Planet X on July 15th. The first volume of phase 2 Marvel comics were tackled in episode 126 (out May 13th 2023) and the first vol of High Republic Adventures comic (Dark Horse) were released in ep 132 (7th July).

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – The History Of Marchion Ro & The Evereni People, Plus Post-Fallen-Star, The Nihil, The Leveler, The Nameless & The High Republic (Eye Of The Storm 1 & 2) – Ep 94

MARCHION RO’S HISTORY IS REVEALED! Ep 94 features the final High Republic comics are out meaning Mike is embarking on the two Eye Of The Storm comics, which detail Marchion Ro’s upbringing and rise to power in the Nihil, the history of his people the Evereni, where the Nameless/Leveler came from, how the galaxy reacted to the events of The Fallen Star and much more!

These High Republic comics are set during/after 230BBY, in the first phase & third wave of the High Republic, chronologically after The Fallen Star & all other phase 1 High Republic content.

Eye Of The Storm 1 was released 12th January 2022, issue 2 was released March 2nd 2022 and both issues are included within the trade paperback of The High Republic comics, called The Jedi’s End.

Charles Soule is the writer of these comics, with Guillermo Sanna as the artist and Jim Campbell as colour artist on both issues, with Antonio Fabela also as colour artist on issue 2.

This episode was first released on the feed of Comics In Motion, in May 2022.

Mike tackled the three volumes of High Republic Adventures comics in episodes 86, 90 & 93 of SWCIC and he the High Republic comics (by Cavan Scott) in episodes 84, 88 and ep 92.

Star Wars: Comics In Canon – Ep 54: Who Is Caleb Dume? Depa Billaba And Bad Batch Continuity (Kanan #1-6, The Last Padawan)

In this episode, Mike tackles the comic starring Caleb Dume/Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars Rebels, detailing how he survived order 66, why he changed his name, what happened to his master Depa Billaba and the differences between the event shown in this 2015 comic and in the first episode of the Bad Batch show! Plus hear how far clones will go to complete order 66 and Mike reads out the warning message Obi-Wan sets up to warn Jedi of order 66 (as seen in Revenge Of The Sith)!

Please note this episode was originally released in May of 2021 on the feed of Comics In Motion.

These 6 comics take place around 19BBY, with the prologue set at 4BBY. All issues were written by Greg Weisman, with Pepe Larraz as the artist on issues 1-5 and Jacopo Camagni as artist on issue 6, with David Curiel as colour artist for all 6 issues.

Issue 1 was released April 2015, issue 6 was released September 2015, the trade paperback collection was released November 2015 and the hardcover (collecting issues 1-12) was released December 2016.
